For those who love Sachin "Ramesh" Tendulkar!!!

Q uotes :- "Nothing bad can happen to us if we're on a plane in India with Sachin Tendulkar on it."  - Hashim Amla, the South African batsman, reassures himself as he boards a flight.  "Sometimes you get so engrossed in watching batsmen like Rahul Dravid and Sachin Tendulkar that you lose focus on your job."  - Yaseer Hameed in pakistani newspaper.  "To Sachin, the man we all want to be"- Andrew Symonds wrote on an aussie t-shirt he autographed specially for Sachin. “Beneath the helmet, under that unruly curly hair, inside the cranium, there is something we don't know, something beyond scientific measure. Something that allows him to soar, to roam a territory of sport that, forget us, even those who are gifted enough to play alongside him cannot even fathom. When he goes out to bat, people switch on their TV sets and switch off their lives."  - BBC on Sachin  "Tuzhe pata hai tune kiska catch chhoda hai?"  - Wasim...

Dear Mr.Shiv Sainik (An Email I Received)

This is what I found in my email inbox today.. what do you make of it? 21st Feb 2010. Dear Mr Shiv Sainik, I trust you have read Rajdeep Sardesai’s open letter to Mr Uddhav Thakeray doing the rounds on the internet. Frankly, for two reasons I won’t be surprised if you haven’t. One, it is in English. And two, it is extremely well-written and very thought–provoking. If you haven’t read it I suggest you ask your children to translate it for you. Like the offspring of most Shiv Sainiks I presume yours too are studying in the most elitist of convent schools. But first, let me introduce myself. I am just a Stupid Common Man. Have you seen the film *‘A Wednesday’*? You must, even though it is in Hindi. Nasiruddin Shah’s soliloquy at the end of the film where he spits out his pent-up anger against the system and all politicians will make your hair stand on end. He calls himself just a Stupid Common Man. That’s what I am too, as are the faceless thousands and thousands of us in this city. ...

Bloggers Park

I never knew blogging’d be so much fun, until I started it myself. I always would be on the other side, reading blogs and thinking what the bloggers made me think, and of course, have my opinions too for their blogs. So many words to say, so many thoughts to share. So many, just so many people out there, waiting to be heard, speaking their hearts out, living the realities of life, yet believing in a world of possibilities to exist. Some are even lucky that they are bestowed with opportunities to make their possibilities become true. Touch wood for them. :) Some blogs are filled with creativity, and some others are filled with maturity, some share their personal life, some professional, some help you build your personality, filled with positivity, and some are pure fun blogs. All in all, its just wonderful, reading peoples’ views and having your own views open for yourself and the world around you.   Blogging can be a great antidote for your mind and soul, help you rejuvenate yo...

Save the Tiger – The Tiger's Doomsday Clock is Ticking

"Save Tigers"... It’s the tiger’s worst hour. In the first two weeks of 2010 – the International Year of the Tiger – India has lost four tigers. A skin was seized in Kerala, and two are suspected poaching cases, though official reports say otherwise. Of particular concern is Corbett, where four tigers have died in 28 days in the cusp of this year. Though Corbett officials insist that all were ‘natural deaths’, doubts are being raised, particularly about a young male tiger found dead in Dhikala on January 11 – in the core of the reserve. A senior official of the National Tiger Conservation Authority affirmed that poisoning is suspected. The cancer has reached the tiger’s last bastions – Kaziranga, celebrated as a success story, lost 15 per cent of its tigers in the space of an year, populations in Kanha ‘the jewel in the crown’, have crashed, with some ranges showing little, or no sign of the tiger; and poaching has reached the heart of Corbett, again. In 2009, we lost ...
